Oblate Candidates
When someone has been an Oblate Inquirer for about a year, or enough time to feel God might be calling her or him to become an oblate of Our Lady of Grace Monastery, that one is invited to make an appointment with the Oblate Director to discern readiness to become an Oblate Candidate.  The time of oblate candidacy is a time to study and reflect on the Rule of St. Benedict and to discern if one is being called to the vocation of oblation.

Candidates meet with the Oblate Director for four special sessions to prepare for oblation in addition to participating in the group Lectio experiences.

They may choose to participate in group Lectio on Sunday afternoon or Tuesday evening during September, November, January, March and May, or they may choose to participate in group Lectio during the Fall Intensive.  (For more information on exact dates see "Current Year Calendar" and "Intensive Formation" under EVENTS.)

Likewise, they may participate in the four special sessions for Candidates on either the Sunday afternoons of October, December, February, and April or in alternate years the alternate sessions for Candidates during the Fall Intensive.  (For more information on exact dates see "Current Year Calendar" and "Intensive Formation" under EVENTS.)

In either case, Candidates are required to do assigned reading and reflection and come prepared to the sessions.

Follow-up work includes meeting individually with the Oblate Director to discern readiness for oblation.

For more information contact the Oblate Director, Sr. Antoinette, at 317-787-3287 ext. 3022 or antoinettep1964@gmail.com.
