The annual retreat for oblates, candidates, and inquirers was held as a virtual event on Saturday September 17, 2022. 

Oblate Kevin Chears of St. Scholastica Monastery in Chicago facilitated the retreat on the theme of Prayer and Community – the Tools of a Benedictine Life. She focused on Chapter 31 Qualifications of the Monastery Cellarer using the chapter to reflect on what it means to be in relationship to God, self, each other, and the larger world as we go about living our lives. Time was spent interweaving the concepts from the chapter with the associated ideas of gratitude, empathy and mindfulness.
